The article "Considering the Needs of Agropastoralists in Mining Municipalities", published by Inter-réseaux and the Réseau Billital Maroobé (RBM), highlights the effects of mining on agropastoral communities in Burkina Faso. Mining operations have led to land seizure, restricted water access, blocked transhumance corridors, and reduced cattle mobility. Although mining companies invest in local development and municipalities have benefited since 2019 from a Mining Fund for Local Development, the specific needs of agropastoralists remain largely overlooked. The "Gold for Climate" project, implemented by RBM and partners, has designed tools to better identify and integrate these needs. The publication advocates for stronger consideration of agropastoralist priorities by local authorities, mining companies, and development partners, with the aim of enhancing resilience in mining-affected pastoral zones.

In the article “Dialogue between Miners and Agropastoralists to Reduce Conflicts” published in January 2023 by Inter‑réseaux Développement Rural, Chec Ibrahima Ouattara, Bénazir Ilboudo, and Marie Hur describe the pilot Gold for Climate project in Burkina Faso . Amid rising tensions caused by mining activities—land appropriation, water use, and corridor closures—the project creates consultation platforms involving mining companies, agropastoralists, and local authorities . These dialogues aim to boost agropastoral resilience, preserve traditional grazing practices, and foster social cohesion in a climate-affected setting. Tools include compensation mechanisms and regular participatory meetings. While the initiative shows promise, the authors highlight challenges such as ensuring durable dialogue structures and embedding these approaches within municipal governance in mining areas.
